Why are these the top 7 movies of 2019 ?

The good things about movies is that they’re subjective. You can connect to different themes depending on your own perspective. ~ Queen Latifah

Wow! Just like that December 2019 is coming to a close. Does it seem unreal? Do you think it went by too fast? I think 2019 flew by but for me the majority of the year has been time well spent! Particularly, I have spent a lot and I do mean alot of my spare time at the movies. To be specific, since September alone I have been to the movies about 13-15 times. Keep in mind, this number does not include the number of times I went to the movies between January and August 2019. So needless to say, I know a thing or two about movie releases! So with that said, let’s dive into our TOP 7 MUST SEE MOVIES OF 2019. (SPOILER ALERT!)

#1 Movie of 2019

My post Breakthrough explains just why this is #1 on the list! This is one of the few movies this year that made me cry while in the theater. The faith Joyce had in God was unbelievable ! When everyone including the doctors said it was over….. she prayed to the one who truly has the final say…. God. Check out my post on this movie. Once you watch this it will steal your heart just like it did mine! God is amazing 😉!

#2 Movie of 2019

I’m sure at this point you are scratching your head, huh? Let me guess, you’re trying to figure out why this movie is #2. Believe it or not, I was extremely touched by this movie. The passion, the honesty, the pursuit to uncover the truth. Within the first 45 minutes of this movie, I was hooked. To put everything on the line and to fight for the people who couldn’t fight for themselves is remarkable. It is also something a lot of people are not doing these days. This is definitely a must see!

#3 Movie of 2019

Harriet Tubman! I’m sure you’ve heard the name. This movie tells the story of one of the most well-known women in American History. It tells a story I have heard many times, but more in depth. This movie shows struggle, pain, and perseverance.

#4 Movie of 2019

The moment this movie stole my heart was when Hannah Scott (played by Aryn Wright- Thompson) tells Coach Harrison to ask her who she is (—–watch scene now). Such truth and power in her words. While this movie may have some cheesy parts, the overall message really speaks to the audience. If you appreciate movies with substance, that bring hope ….this movie is for you !

#5 Movie of 2019

Yes, whether you like it or not this movie is #5! First off, the actor who played Joker did a really good job making the character believable. While overall, the film was a bit gruesome at some parts and unsettled me at other parts….. I connected with Joker’s pain. The non-acceptance, the being treated poorly by peers because of mental illness, the being bullied & made fun of… Ugh, it’s all so real. With that being said, the violence in the movie is the cause of it being rated lower on the list. If you’re into Joker and want to understand the character more, then this is the movie for you.

Brace for shock while watching Joker!

#6 Movie of 2019

“Won’t you be my neighbor?” Tom Hanks has had my heart since I watched Forrest Gump. This movie was a bit corny, especially when he was singing with the puppets on his hands.(I’m laughing thinking of that scene!) At the same time, it was cute. Anything that puts a positive message out into the world, I support! I really like how interviewing Mrs. Rogers helps to change the main character’s perspective on life. A lot of the time, God uses people to change our lives for the better… and this movie shows just that. Go get your popcorn ready…..🍿 !

#7 Movie of 2019

Aw, come on it’s FROZEN. Of course it made the list! (Just to be clear,I’ve never watched the first Frozen movie all the way through) I really thought this movie was so cute and the kids reactions in the theater made it even better ! The storyline was easy to follow and kept me wanting to watch more. Elsa and Anna were determined to uncover the truth. By uncovering the truth, they saved their home & the people they cared about. Doing for others is what life is all about !👑

Below you will find a list of some of the other movies I watched in 2019 but sadly they did not make the list: (* = Great story line)

Gemini Man, Playing with Fire, Maleficent, 21 Bridges, *Brittany Runs a Marathon, Dumbo, Playing With Fire, *Ford Vs. Ferrari, Last Christmas, *Knives Out, Terminator, *Black and Blue, *The Art of Racing in the Rain

Sadly, I have not watched: Jumanji: The Next Level (Can I just say I really like the old version of Jumanji with Robin Williams?) (Which version do you prefer?), Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, Cats, Just Mercy, Little Women, Spies in Disguise or Richard Jewell when I do this list may very well be updated………….

Looking forward to the movie releases in 2020 ! 🤘🎥
